Deploy Smart Contracts on Roburna

Roburna is EVM-compatible, allowing developers to use familiar Ethereum development tools to deploy smart contracts.

This guide covers three common development environments:

  • Remix — Recommended for beginners and quick deployments.
  • Hardhat — Recommended for structured JavaScript or TypeScript projects.
  • Foundry — Recommended for developers who prefer a fast, command-line-based workflow.

Before deploying to Testnet, make sure you have:

  • A Web3 wallet such as MetaMask.
  • RBAT for Testnet transaction fees.
  • Access to the Roburna Testnet.

For Testnet network parameters and the RBAT faucet, see Roburna Testnet.

#Deploy With Remix

Remix is a browser-based development environment that allows you to write, compile, and deploy Solidity smart contracts without installing a local development environment.

#1. Create a Contract

Open Remix IDE and create a new Solidity file named:

HelloRoburna.sol

Add the following contract:

typescript
// SPDX-License-Identifier: MIT
pragma solidity ^0.8.20;

contract HelloRoburna {
    string public greeting = "Hello from Roburna Testnet!";

    function setGreeting(string memory _greeting) public {
        greeting = _greeting;
    }

    function getGreeting() public view returns (string memory) {
        return greeting;
    }
}

#2. Compile the Contract

  1. Open the Solidity Compiler tab.
  2. Select a compatible Solidity 0.8.x compiler.
  3. Compile HelloRoburna.sol.

#3. Connect Your Wallet

  1. Open Deploy & Run Transactions.
  2. Under Environment, select Injected Provider - MetaMask.
  3. Approve the connection in your wallet.
  4. Make sure your wallet is connected to Roburna Testnet.

#4. Deploy

  1. Select HelloRoburna under Contract.
  2. Click Deploy.
  3. Confirm the transaction in your wallet.
  4. Wait for the transaction to be confirmed.

Once deployed, Remix will display the contract address. You can search for the address on RBAScan Testnet.

#After Deployment

After deploying your contract, the next recommended step is to verify the contract source code on RBAScan.

Verification makes the contract's source code publicly available and allows users to inspect and interact with the contract through the explorer.
